SPRITUAL DIMENSION :

Ten days have passed since the twin tragedies that befell Davao City, Typhoon VINTA and the NCCC MALL fire,  Davao City still has to thank Our Creator for the answered prayers with regards to the mild tremors that hit Davao Region on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

EARTH, WIND,  FIRE and WATER took a heavy toll in terms of lives lost and property damage, with the NCCC MALL taking the biggest blow with the biggest toll in both.

This catastrophe is a WAKE UP CALL for all of us.

THE MOST PROBABLE CAUSE OF THE FIRE :

As per accounts in the news,  the fire alarm was sounded at 9:30 AM,  there are accounts rubber fumes were  emitted from the Air conditioning Ducts.  The single-phasing of three phase power connection is probably the most probable cause of the fire, as even the production wells of the Davao City Water District was also affected by this condition which cut off water supply to the city during that day.

WHY THE HEAVY TOLL ?

The call center agents were caught in the locker room area, as they were retrieving their personal things

The safety officer of NCCC MALL went back to save them, in the process sacrificing his own life to be with them in Heaven.

LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE NCCC MALL FIRE :

A fire which cannot be contained within 3 to 5 minutes will create substantial damage to property and lives,  given the time of the incident, had it happen in the middle of the night, the toll on human lives could have been bigger.

At the first sign of any emergency, one shoulder run for his/her life and seek shelter in a safer place.

PANIC should be avoided, as more casualties are created by such.
